Welcome to Term 2 2010

I am so pleased to be able to tell you all that TACE is still running and providing our community with a great service. Whew! That is certainly good news for us all.

On another bright note, we have been successful in obtaining a grant from Telstra to provide our seniors with FREE courses (conditions apply). These courses will cover, internet, email,  sharing photo’s online, shopping online and mobile phone usage. This is a great opportunity for our members to take advantage of this training that is supported by Telstra Connected Seniors®.  I am in the process of scheduling courses, so come and see me if you have a particular topic you want to cover.

We are finally resurrecting the tilligerry.com website. This will have local news, events and a community directory on it. The site is still under construction but will have information added to it very shortly, so have a look and please give us some feedback.

We have a new patchwork self-help group starting up, Quirky Quilters, they have a tutor every fortnight to share new ideas and designs. The contact details are listed under our regular groups.

For advice or assistance please remember Sue is available on Thursdays and we have volunteers available on the other days so come on down and catch up with us.

Have a great term.
Sue

TACE is a non-profit organisation, operated by a voluntary committee whose aim is to plan and conduct economical educational programs to meet the needs and interests of adults in the local community. TACE also works in co-operation with other organisations in developing Adult & Community Education programs.
Adult and Community Education has thrived on the Tilligerry Peninsula for over 20 years and residents from other nearby districts have been participants in our courses.  Our programs are publicised as widely as our finances will allow.
We have a group of volunteers to assist in the office and we are looking for volunteers with computer skills to allow our facility to open on a regular basis for casual use especially for internet users.
New residents in the area, wishing to link up with a regular Art or Craft group, should contact our Co-ordinator who will put them in touch with one of the many "Self-Help" groups operating locally.
